Resolution refers to the number of pixels in an image. Resolution is sometimes identified by the width and height of the image as well as the total number of pixels in the image. For example, an image that is 2048 pixels wide and 1536 pixels high (2048X1536) contains (multiply) 3,145,728 pixels (or 3.1 Megapixels).  You could call it a 2048X1536 or a 3.1 Megapixel image.  As the megapixels in the pickup device in your camera increase so does the possible maximum size image you can produce.  This means that a 5 megapixel camera is capable of capturing a larger image than a 3 megapixel camera.The computer screen you are looking at right now is set at a particular resolution as well.  The larger the screen, the larger you likely have your screen resolution set.  If you have a 17" monitor, likely you have it set at 800X600 pixels.  If you have a 19" screen it is likely set at 1024X768.  You can change the settings but these are optimum for those screen sizes.

Now, if your monitor is set to 800X600 and you open up an image that is 640X480, it will only fill up a part of your screen.   If you open up an image that is 2048X1536 (3.1 megapixels) then you will find yourself moving the slider bar around to see all the different parts of the image.  It just won't fit.  (To see the spider above at this resolution, (Warning!  536 Kb file!), click here.  Add to that the fact that the computer monitor has a finite number of pixels per inch available (like 72) so if you are going to display your image on a monitor only, you would want to drop the quality down to 72 to save file space.  If you are going to put your image on a webpage or email it to a friend then you will want to first make it a useful size.  Not too big, not too small.  Maybe 200-300 pixels high would be a nice size.  You can also reduce the size of the file (not necessarily the size of the image) so it loads faster.  You reduce the file size by compressing the image (see the next question).n addition to image size, the quality of the image can also be manipulated.  Here we use the word "compression".  An uncompressed image is saved in a file format that doesn't compress the pixels in the image at all.  Formats such as BMP or TIF files do not compress the image.  If you want to reduce the "file size" (number of megabytes required to save the image), you can choose to store your image as a JPG file and choose the amount of compression you want before saving the image.  

JPG compression analyzes images in blocks of 8X8 pixels in size and selectively reduces the detail within each block.  At higher compression rations, the block pattern becomes more visible and there may be noticeable loss of detail, especially when you attempt to make prints larger than recommended.  The subject and pattern in the image is also a factor.  For example, a picture of the blue sky can be compressed quite a bit without any noticeable effects but a picture of a colorful bird would "pixelate" quite quickly.   Take another look at the two images at the top.  The first is somewhat compressed, about 200 pixels high (size) and the file is only 14Kb.  The image on the right is the same size but compressed quite a bit more reducing the file size to 4Kb.
By using JPG compression, you can keep the physical size of the image the same and reduce the amount of disk space required to store it but you will be sacrificing the quality of the image.

On a computer that is provided with a desktop kind of user interface, wallpaper is the background pattern or picture against which desktop menus, icons, and other elements are displayed and moved around. A wallpaper image can be in a JPEG or a GIF file format. Wallpaper is commonly used in Microsoft Windows, Macintosh Mac OS, Linux, and in other operating systems as well. Each operating system provides several pre-installed wallpaper images for the user to choose from. A user can also choose to download and install third-party wallpapers and use one of these instead.
Typically, a wallpaper image may be centered, stretched, or tiled. When an image is centered, it is placed in the middle of the desktop and is surrounded by a solid color. When an image is stretched, it is stretched to cover all of the desktop. Only certain images can be stretched or they look distorted. An image that is tiled is placed on the desktop much like tiles are placed in a shower or a tiled floor. Tiling is commonly used for patterns instead of photos because a pattern is one square image that repeats itself across and down the screen, effectively forming a single image.

A desktop theme is a customized graphical user interface (GUI) that replaces a computer's ordinary sounds, icons, pointer, wallpaper or screensaver with something designed to reflect the interests of the user. For instance, if you were interested in bass fishing, you could have a picture of a lake for your computer wallpaper, icons that resemble different kinds of fishing lures, sounds that are related to boats, water and fishing reels, a screen saver from your favorite TV show about bass fishing, and a pointer that looks like a fish. Although desktop themes are popular for home use, many network administrators frown upon desktop themes, primarily because it is possible for a user to inadvertently introduce a virus by downloading a theme from an unknown source.
There are free desktop themes, as well as shareware themes, available on the Internet for all operating systems. It is also possible for users to create their own desktop themes. Microsoft used to require that users purchase an application called Microsoft Plus! to use desktop themes, but they included it as standard issue in Windows 98 and Windows Me. The initial release of Windows 2000 does not include the Plus! package (or its equivalent), although high customer demand leads some industry watchers to predict that the Plus! package will either be included in the next edition of Windows 2000, or be released separately (as it was for Windows 95). In Linux, the latest version of the KDE graphical desktop environment includes a tool to enable users to change their desktop theme. In the spirit of "if you can't beat them, join them", IBM is sponsoring a desktop theme contest for Linux users; first prize is a three thousand dollar donation to the winner's favorite non-profit Open Source organization.

Windows 7 is an operating system produced by Microsoft for use on personal computers, including home and business desktops, laptops, netbooks, tablet PCs, and media center PCs. less than three years after the release of its predecessor, Windows Vista. Windows 7's server counterpart, Windows Server 2008 R2, was released at the same time. Windows 7 is succeeded by Windows 8.
Unlike Windows Vista's many new features, Windows 7 was an incremental upgrade designed to work with Vista-compatible applications and hardware.Presentations given by Microsoft in 2008 focused on multi-touch support, an updated Windows shell with a new taskbar, referred to internally as the Superbar, a home networking system called HomeGroup,and performance improvements. Some standard applications that have been included with prior releases of Microsoft Windows, including Windows Calendar, Windows Mail, Windows Movie Maker, and Windows Photo Gallery, are not included in Windows 7.

The taskbar has seen the biggest visual changes, where the Quick Launch toolbar has been replaced with the ability to pin applications to the taskbar. Buttons for pinned applications are integrated with the task buttons. These buttons also enable the Jump Lists feature to allow easy access to common tasks.The revamped taskbar also allows the reordering of taskbar buttons. To the far right of the system clock is a small rectangular button that serves as the Show desktop icon. This button is part of the new feature in Windows 7 called Aero Peek. Hovering over this button makes all visible windows transparent for a quick look at the desktop.Clicking this button minimizes all windows, and clicking it a second time restores them. Additionally, there is a feature named Aero Snap, that automatically maximizes a window when it is dragged to the top of the screen.Dragging windows to the left/right edges of the screen allows users to snap documents or files on either side of the screen for comparison between windows, such that the windows vertically take up half the screen. When a user moves windows that were maximized using Aero Snap, the system restores their previous state automatically. This functionality is also accomplished with keyboard shortcuts. Unlike in Windows Vista, window borders and the taskbar do not turn opaque when a window is maximized with Windows Aero applied. Instead, they remain translucent. Windows 7 includes 13 additional sound schemes, titled Afternoon, Calligraphy, Characters, Cityscape, Delta, Festival, Garden, Heritage, Landscape, Quirky, Raga, Savanna, and Sonata.

It allows multiple Windows environments, including Windows XP Mode, to run on the same machine. Windows XP Mode runs Windows XP in a virtual machine and redirects displayed applications running in Windows XP to the Windows 7 desktop.Furthermore, Windows 7 supports the mounting of a virtual hard disk (VHD) as a normal data storage, and the bootloader delivered with Windows 7 can boot the Windows system from a VHD; however, this ability is only available in the Enterprise and Ultimate editions. The Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) of Windows 7 is also enhanced to support real-time multimedia application including video playback and 3D games, thus allowing use of DirectX 10 in remote desktop environments.All editions include some new and improved features that originated with Vista, such as Windows Search, Security features, and some features new to Windows 7. Optional BitLocker Drive Encryption is included with Windows 7 Ultimate and Enterprise. Windows Defender is included; Microsoft Security Essentials antivirus software is a free download. All editions include Shadow Copy, which—every day or so—System Restore uses to take an automatic "previous version" snapshot of user files that have changed.

1)Find the pictures that you want to include in your slide show. All of the pictures must be located in the same folder.

Open Desktop Background by clicking the Start button  and clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type desktop background, and then click Change desktop background.Wallpaper (also desktop picture and desktop background) is an image used as a background of a graphical user interface on a computer screen or mobile communications device. On a computer it is usually for the desktop, while for a mobile phone it is usually the background for the 'home' or 'idle' screen. Though most devices comes with a default picture, users can usually change it to files of their choosing"Wallpaper" is the term used in Microsoft Windows before Windows Vista (where it is called the Desktop "Background"), while Mac OS X calls it a "desktop picture" (previously, the term desktop pattern was used to refer to a small pattern that was repeated to fill the screen).A 'live wallpaper' is a type of application that works on a mobile device using the Android operating system. 

2)If the pictures that you want to use aren't in the list of desktop background pictures, click the Picture location list to view other categories, or click Browse to search your computer for the folder where the pictures are located.

3)Select the check box for each picture that you want to include in your slide show.
By default, all of the pictures in a folder are selected and will be part of the slide show. If you don't want all of the pictures in the folder to be included, do one of the following:
Clear the check box for each picture that you want to remove from the slide show.
Press the Ctrl key, and then click each picture that you want to remove. Only the selected pictures will appear in the slide show.
To create a slide show of pictures on the desktop, you must select more than one picture. If only one picture is selected, the slide show ends and the selected picture becomes the desktop background.

Note:

If all of the pictures in the folder are selected, any new pictures that you add to the folder will be added to the slide show automatically.

4)Do one or more of the following:
Click an item in the Picture position list to crop the pictures to fill the screen, fit the pictures to the screen, stretch the pictures to fit the screen, tile the pictures, or center the pictures on the screen.
Click an item in the Change picture every list to choose how quickly the slide show changes pictures.
Select the Shuffle check box to have the pictures appear in a random order.Click Save changes.

Spring Season is a particular type of season that is experienced in the temperate climatic zones. Spring is an intermediate seasonal phase in between winter and summer.
